2025 Events

All our activities and events will be following any Government Covid guidelines and restrictions. At this time, our meetings will continue via Zoom. Please email greeningchinnor@gmail.com for links to meeting.

1st Tuesday of the month | Working Party at the Orchard | 11 am - 12:30 pm. Tools and gloves supplied. Please wear suitable working clothes and footwear. All welcome.

3rd Saturday of the month | Working party at the Orchard | 1 pm - 3:30 pm. Tools and gloves supplied. Please wear suitable working clothes and footwear. All welcome.

Sunday 19th January 2025 | Wassail at the Orchard | 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Orchard - gates open 1:30pm | Free event | Bring musical instruments, pans and spoons, whistles or anything noisy! Refreshments available for a small cash donation. Please be aware that it can be very muddy and wet in the lane and Orchard so please wear suitable footwear.

Wednesday 22nd January 2025 | Donkey Lane Community Orchard Story Group Meeting | 3:30 pm via Zoom. We meet regularly to discuss social history and other 'stories' of the orchard. email greeningchinnor@gmail.com for link

18th February 2025 | Orchard Meeting via Zoom | Donkey Lane Community Orchard Meeting - to discuss ongoing activity at the orchard | 7:30 pm via Zoom. email greeningchinnor@gmail.com for link.

Friday 28th February 2025 | Greening Chinnor Annual Quiz. | Chinnor Village Hall | Doors Open 19:00, first question 19:30. Teams of 8, £5 per head, maximum of 15 teams. Please book a table by calling 01844 353349. Bring your own drinks and snacks.

Saturday 1st/Sunday 2nd and Saturday 15th/Sunday 16th March 2025 | Test Pit Digs at the Orchard | 10 am - 3:30 pm. Equipment provided. Come and help us find evidence of the people that shaped the Orchard. Suitable for everyone, no experience necessary. Please wear suitable working clothes and footwear and bring a packed lunch. All welcome. Email Linda at greeningchinnor@gmail.com to book your place.

Saturday 29th March 2025 | Repair Café at St Andrew's Church | 10 am - 1 pm (last item accepted 12:30 pm). Entrance is free. Cash donations towards costs and St Andrew's fund would be most welcome. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for what repairs we can offer 

Saturday 26th April 2025 | Donkey Lane Community Orchard Blossom Trail & Picnic at the Orchard | 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Come and see how the Orchard is coming along and check out the beautiful blossom. Take the opportunity to find out about the social history and biodiversity of the site whilst enjoying some refreshments. Entrance is free although a donation would be welcome. We regret that the uneven terrain makes it unsuitable for disabled or pushchairs.

Working parties at the Orchard
These take place on the first Tuesday of the month between 10:00 am - 1:00 pm and the third Saturday of the month between 1:00  pm - 4:00.

To find the orchard
Head up Keen's Lane, Chinnor, cross the railway crossing and the orchard is directly on the right hand side. These working parties are to help regenerate and restore the ancient orchard and to explore the social history of the site.
