Brilliant morning on Saturday 20th July at our first Repair Café in St Andrew’s Church. I think everyone who took part or visited enjoyed it. Thank you very much to our amazing fixers and helpers; what a great team we have. I think St Andrew’s is a perfect venue. Our thanks to Lauretta and Jacky for their help in bringing this together.
You may like to know how we did, well we had 9 fixers, 3 support and 37 visitors. 24 items were logged of which 17 were fixed plus 1 that has been taken to fix (46 kilos), 2 given advice (1.5 kilos) and 4 being unfixable (5 kilos). 75% of items fixed (or will be fixed), not bad at all 😊.
Some of the items that turned up were:
Cloth tool bag, a 150-year-old bible, a lamp, a vax hoover, shredders, soft toys, jeans, toy train, lawn mower, ladder, dressing gown, secateurs, charger for an electric fence, toaster, a Christmas rocking reindeer and a music box.
The next Repair Cafés at St Andrew’s are planned for:
• Saturday 28th September 2024. 10:00 am – 1:00 pm (last item accepted 12:30 pm)
• Saturday 2nd November 2024. Timings as above
More details of what we can fix, will be published nearer the date. If you’d like to get involved in our Repair Café, please either message or email me at greeningchinnor@gmail.com
