Greening Chinnor Annual General Meeting
The minutes from the AGM can be found here and if you want to find out more about our achievements a copy of our Annual Report can be found here or on our website under Governance. We hope you find it interesting.
The formal process of the meeting was followed by demonstrations of traditional bobbin lacemaking by Lynn Lloyd (Chinnor Lacewings) and Sue Newman (Risboro’ Lacemakers) who gave an overview of bobbin lacemaking in the area and its history. Sue and Lynn brought a beautiful display of the many types of lace the group had produced. There was also the opportunity to try your hand at lacemaking and many attendees took up the challenge to work on ‘Sammy the Snake’.
Huge thanks to Lynn and Sue for giving us such a fun evening. For more information on Risboro’ Lacemakers go to their website at https://www.risborolacemakers.org/
VACANCY: We are in need of a secretary for the group. This is a key role and the main duties would be to record and prepare the minutes of our monthly meetings. This would require a time commitment of up to two hours at the meeting and two to three hours on producing the minutes (depending on experience). There would also be the opportunity to help with other back-office support such as preparation and close-down of the documentation required for our Repair Cafes and events as well as helping with newsletters and publicity, etc.
If you or someone you know would like to help us, please contact Greening Chinnor for an informal chat.

An old tradition to bless the trees and wish them good health. It involves a ‘toast’, singing, drumming & mulled apple juice.
Bring your children, families and friends, warm clothes and wellies, a sense of humour, musical instruments or a pan and wooden spoon to make a noise and your finest singing voices!
The nearest postcode to the Orchard is OX39 4PF. There is no access for cars or parking at the Orchard. There is free on road parking on Chinnor: Church Road and High Street. Also Parking behind the Post Office and near The Village Centre.
To find the Orchard from the Post Office. Walk up Keens Lane towards The Ridgeway. Cross at the level crossing (be aware of trains – this is an active railway line). The Orchard is accessed by a metal gate directly on the right-hand side after the crossing.
