Stories
Since we began to clear the derelict area in 2019, which is now the Donkey Lane Community Orchard, we have been keen to find out the history or the 'Story' of the Orchard. We wanted to know about who lived there, what they did?; who/what else lives there i.e. animals, invertebrates, mosses & lichens, plants, etc. We wanted to record 'our' story; how and why we are restoring the area.
Since 2021 a small group of our enthusiastic members formed the 'Orchard Story Group' and agreed that they were ready to start sharing those stories. Since April 2021 we have been publishing articles on a regular basis; a short version is published in the local Chinnor Parish Pump publication with a fuller version posted here for all to share.
